Transformative Climate Communities

The Strategic Growth Council is in the process of implementing the Transformative Climate Communities program to invest $140 million of Cap and Trade money in three communities – likely $70 million in Fresno, $35 million in Los Angeles, and $35 million in a third location. Additionally, $1.5 million in planning grants will be awarded to up to ten communities to facilitate community readiness for future implementation funding.

The Transformative Climate Communities program is focused on investing in the communities with all or a majority of census tracts that fall within the top 5% of disadvantaged communities as defined by CalEPA using CalEnviroScreen 3.0. (CalEnviroScreen 3.0 spreadsheet for SACOG region)
