Sustainable Agricultural Lands Conservation Program

As a component of the Strategic Growth Council (SGC)’s Affordable Housing and Sustainability Program (AHSC), the Sustainable Agricultural Lands Conservation (SALC) Programcomplements programmatic efforts and investments in urban areas, through:

• Purchase of agricultural conservation easements,
• Development of agricultural land strategy plans, and;
• Other mechanisms that result in a more resilient agricultural sector.

Implementation of the SALC program is a cooperative effort between the California Department of Conservation, the Natural Resources Agency, and the SGC, with revenue from the California Climate Investments (CCI) Fund.
