There is no requirement for awarding special recognition.
Regional Collaboration – Golden 1 Center

The planning of Golden 1 Center took unparalleled collaboration and perseverance.
Sacramento Regional Fire/EMS Communications Center
The Sacramento Regional Fire/EMS Communications Center dispatches all fire and medical calls in Sacramento County. This year, the Center’s Geographic Information Systems team championed innovative transportation solutions across multiple jurisdictions to enhance public safety. They began development of a single source map book for all agencies with regionalized data. This is a significant improvement for response times and aids in smart growth planning and siting for future fire stations to better meet the needs of residents.
Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation, Yolo County Transportation District, Cache Creek Casino, Veolia Transportation, Yolo County, Employee Transportation Alternatives Program
The goals of this 12-year public-private partnership between Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation, Yolo County Transportation District, Veolia Transportation, Cache Creek Casino and Yolo County includes reducing single occupancy vehicle commutes to Cache Creek Casino & Resort, increasing alternative mode uses for employees, and enhancing opportunities for access to transit for residents in rural parts of Yolo County. Through this partnership, a transit system typically associated with urban core communities has been created to meet the needs of rural residents.
Galt Place Affordable Senior Housing Development
City of Galt
Galt Place is a high density mixed-use infill development in the heart of historic downtown Galt. Galt Place is another example of successful small city implementation of the Blueprint and smart growth principles while maintaining unique rural characteristics. The project provides 81 affordable senior housing units, in one- and two-bedroom apartments. This is the first senior housing project for the city. Galt Place’s current retail includes a photography studio, women’s groups meeting place, a mortgage company, and plans are under way for a diner.

The Apple Hill Growers Association has created successful marketing opportunities for specialty growers in El Dorado County, including farm stands, seasonal campaigns and special events.
