Shared Services

Overview

Shared Services

Since 2012, SACOG has undertaken the Shared Services initiative acting as a convener or direct service provider to look at opportunities for cost savings and enhanced services for our member cities and counties. The goal of the Shared Services program are to bring a consolidated and cooperative approach to city, county and special district government services in the Sacramento area. This is accomplished through coordination with local government departments on opportunities for joint contracting, shared services, and other innovative efforts that make delivering government services more efficient or effective.

HGACBuy Cooperative Buying Program
Contract Resources

SACOG is affiliated with the Houston-Galveston (TX) Area Council’s (HGAC) cooperative buying program. The affiliation provides combined experience in volume purchasing power to accommodate significant savings for eligible entities.

To be most effective, your organization should use the HGAC program early in the purchasing process. You’ll not only save money, but also time and administrative expense in preparing a separate bid.

Make the process move quicker and smoother by involving SACOG in the process. Contact Conor Peterson, SACOG  Program Coordinator for assistance.

A complete list of HGAC contracts is available at the Houston-Galveston Area Council (HGAC) Website. The vendors are national manufacturers or Texas vendors. Most HGAC contracts are honored nation-wide and local Maryland vendors are used as appropriate
