What’s Next for Bike Share?
Discussion During March Transportation Committee

Post

The recommendation from consultants Toole Design for SACOG to own and operate the region’s Bike Share system has led to SACOG and Toole Design to dig deeper into what such a system would look like.

Toole Design is working on details of how the three pilot cities and additional partners will work together to support the system. Balancing the responsibilities of maintenance costs and sponsorship revenues will be keys to ensuring a successful public-private partnership with a future bike share system operator and equipment vendor.

The recommended governance structure will be presented to the Transportation Committee for the first time during the next convening on March 3, 2016.

Toole Design is finalizing a more detailed structure that outlines roles and responsibilities and present it to the Policy Steering Committee next month.
