Framework for RFP Approved by Transportation Committee

On March 31, 2016, the Transportation Committee (TC) unanimously approved a recommendation to the SACOG Board for approval of a Request for Proposals (RFP) for a Bike Share operator and vendor. This marks the first SACOG Committee action for Bike Share!

During their last meeting, the TC was briefed on the progress of the Regional Bike Share system and the potential SACOG owned and operated governance model. Bike Share was back on the TC agenda, this time to request their recommendation for the SACOG Board of Directors to authorize the release of a RFP for a bike share operator and equipment vendor. The RFP will be based on the system framework presented to the TC that was drafted by SACOG staff and reviewed by the Bike Share Policy Steering Committee and Project Management Team. 

The system framework will guide the development of a RFP that aims to recruit the most qualified operator and vendor to make the Sacramento Region’s Bike Share a world class system. The components to the framework include:
