Civic Lab is Open
Successful Launch with over 130 attendees
The launch of Civic Lab on August 17 brought together over 130 participants from across the region.
Launch participants heard about successes and failures from Livermore Amador Valley Transit Authority. The transit authority has been testing new options for their transit service including partnerships with Transportation Network Companies (e.g. Lyft), and changes to Paratransit service. Participants also participated in rapid fire table discussions on transportation demand management, transit in rural communities, autonomous shuttles, and innovations in data and analytics.
In its inaugural year, Civic Lab will focus on technology disruptions in transportation. Civic Lab teams will come in with their local challenges and through intensive training and learning, plan for pilot projects that leverage new technologies and approaches.
We anticipate applications from across the region that will cover a wide range of transportation challenges. We encourage both formed teams and individuals to apply.
