Civic Lab Application Period is Closed.

Civic Lab is designed for public agencies to pilot new ideas, test innovative solutions, and draft policy language. SACOG intends to work diligently over the span of Civic Lab to make sure all resources are provided for the completion of each project, and will work to help secure funds to implement projects.

This inaugural year of Civic Lab there is no tuition or application fee, just a $500 per team program fee to cover costs such as food, logistics, and space. SACOG strongly encourages applicants to be multi-agency teams, but it is not required. While individuals can apply directly to Civic Lab, and may be placed with a team at the discretion of that team, an individual’s participation is more likely if they apply directly with a lead agency.

Applications have closed.

Lead agencies must be a SACOG member jurisdiction or partner agency.

If you are partnering with other agencies or groups, please list the organization and staff names here.

What is the issue you have identified to address through Civic Lab? Solutions at this stage will likely need to be developed though the Civic Lab process but if you have any already identified any potential solutions please include them. This should be the longest portion of the application, 500 words maximum.

What do you want to have at the end of Civic Lab? This can be brief, example: A plan to conduct a pilot for an autonomous shuttle between the airport and a downtown. 200 words maximum.

Regardless of funding source, how would this project be implemented, what’s the anticipated budget and schedule. This can also be fairly brief, for example: this project is part of the city’s long term policy objectives, it’s anticipated it would cost $1 million dollars over 24 months.
