California Communities Environmental Health Screening Tool, Version 2.0 (CalEnviroScreen 2.0)

Abstract: The Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA), on behalf of the California Environmental Protection Agency (CalEPA), announces the availability of the Communities Environmental Health Screening Tool: CalEnviroScreen Version 2.0 (CalEnviroScreen 2.0). CalEnviroScreen is a screening methodology that can be used to help identify California communities that are disproportionately burdened by multiple sources of pollution. The 2.0 report and supporting documents are available at: http://oehha.ca.gov/ej/ces2.html
Originator: OEHHA, CalEPA
Purpose: Review the CalEnviroScreen 2.0 draft report at: http://oehha.ca.gov/ej/ces2.htmlfor guidance on CalEnviroScreen use.

Zip Codes 2009

Download zip folder Download KML

Abstract: Zip code tabulation areas are designed to approximate the location of U.S. Postal zip codes. ZCTAs are approximations of mailing ZIP Codes and should not be confused with them. There multiple common reasons why someone’s ZIP Code may not match the ZCTA code, and these need to be considered. Based on the January 2000 list of ZIP Codes from the USPS’s Delivery Type File, the ZCTA delineation process excluded 10,068 ZIP Codes in the United States and Puerto Rico. In order for others to use the information in the Census MAF/TIGER database in a geographic information system (GIS) or for other geographic applications, the Census Bureau releases to the public extracts of the database in the form of TIGER/Line Shapefiles.
Originator: US Census Bureau. CaSIL modified this data’s spatial extent and attributes for its use.
Purpose: CaSIL modified this data’s spatial extent and attributes for its use. User should keep in mind that ZCTAs do not align exactly to zip code boundaries from the USPS, but are a close approximation.
