SACOG is pleased to announce applications for the REAP competitive and non-competitive grants are now being accepted. Applications are solicited from cities and counties in the six-county SACOG region. Applications must be submitted no later than 11:59 pm on March 12, 2021.
Competitive Grant Program
A minimum of $1,727,000 total funding is allocated to this competitive place-based pilot grant program. This pilot program is designed to leverage the Civic Lab Housing Series and advance the Green Means Go strategy. Projects must be planning activities to increase and/or accelerate housing in adopted Green Zones. Eligible applicants are cities and counties in the six-county region.
Application materials must be submitted through Screendoor, no later than 11:59 pm on March 12, 2021.
Applications will be reviewed by a committee. The review committee is not yet formed. SACOG is considering a review committee of up to five reviewers, including two SACOG staff and up to three external professionals with experience in housing, planning, economic development, or other related activities. The review committee will have an opportunity to discuss all applications as a committee but will individually score each application. Based on the highest overall scores, SACOG staff and management will recommend a full project list to the SACOG Board for funding awards, tentatively scheduled for June 2021.
Approximately $2.8 million is allocated to non-competitive grants. SACOG is providing grant funds to each jurisdiction for housing planning that has a nexus to increased housing production. Grant amounts are based on the jurisdiction’s share of units in the 2021-2029 Regional Housing Needs Plan.
In order to receive grant funds, cities and counties must either submit a letter to SACOG outlining how the grant funds will be used, or, use the form below to provide this information to SACOG. If submitting a letter, please use the form below as a checklist for what to include in your letter.
