US 50 Comprehensive Multimodal Corridor Plan
Improving safety, reliability, and access along Highway 50 in the Sacramento region
About the US 50 CMCP
The US 50 Comprehensive Multimodal Corridor Plan (US 50 CMCP), is a long-range planning effort that will provide ways to improve congestion, safety, and accessibility along a 58-mile portion of the corridor in the Sacramento region. The plan takes a big picture approach by identifying strategies and improvements for:
- US 50 highway facilities
- Sacramento Regional Transit Gold Line
- The American River Parkway
- Local roadways and public transit routes
- Active transportation (walking and bicycling) networks
- Intelligent transportation systems (ITS)
- Transportation demand management (TDM)
- Broadband infrastructure
The plan is a collaborative effort co-led by SACOG and Caltrans, in partnership with El Dorado Transportation Commission (EDCTC), Sacramento Transportation Authority (STA), local cities and counties, tribal governments, public transit agencies, the 50 Corridor Transportation Management Association (50 TMA), and other partners.
Community members and partners along the corridor - from West Sacramento and Pollock Pines- are also key partners in shaping the plan's vision and recommendations through engagement events throughout the process.
The US 50 CMCP is funded by a Caltrans Strategic Partnership Planning Grant.
