What is Sustainable Mobility at SACOG?
SACOG's Sustainable Mobility Program works to foster the next generation of mobility solutions to make it easier, safer, and cleaner for everyone to move through the region. We do this by:

Providing grant funding and technical assistance to member agencies and partners to improve mobility, address barriers to transportation access, and facilitate mode shift;

Procuring and developing regional data and information services to build a foundation for the next generation of mobility services and tools;

Sharing information about evolving data, digital policy, and Intelligent Transportation Systems to support improved mobility;

Convening discussions with member agencies and local partners to strategically plan for shared mobility services and flexible fleets.
Why do we need sustainable mobility?
Our region cannot financially create or support a transportation system that requires everyone to own a private vehicle. What’s more, many residents do not own a vehicle or are otherwise unable or unwilling to drive for their needed trips due to age, disability, or other personal reasons.
With transportation being the means for how we access opportunity, our region must provide a range of mobility choices to meet the diverse needs of residents and visitors in all types of communities.
