While SACOG’s focus is often associated with transportation efforts, land use and considering where people live is intricately interwoven within this framework. Housing affordability challenges persist in our region, and SACOG actively addresses these by supporting housing projects and facilitating best practices in housing policy. SACOG approaches these challenges through various methods, including our Regional Housing Needs Allocation (RHNA) program and the land use section of our Blueprint.
SACOG provides technical assistance for projects that align with the Blueprint plan. The agency is is focused on fostering forward-thinking housing policies that create more sustainable and equitable communities, ensuring that the community members have access to safe, affordable, and quality housing.
