Mather Airport Land Use Compatibility Plan
On August 18, 2022, the SACOG Board of Directors, serving as the Airport Land Use Commission (ALUC), adopted the Mather Airport Land Use Compatibility Plan (ALUCP) update and its associated environmental document. The board’s responsibilities as the ALUC are to ensure that proposed land uses in areas around airports are compatible with airport operations. The board does this by adopting and updating plans known as the ALUCPs. These plans include land use policies and compatibility criteria for safety, noise, airspace protection, and overflight notification for each airport under its jurisdiction. The prior plan for Mather Airport was adopted in 1997 and since then, changes to operations, aircraft technology and other factors have warranted the need to update the ALUCP.

- Draft associated environmental document for the ALUCP. This includes an Initial Study (IS) and supporting development displacement analysis were prepared for the Draft ALUCP. The development displacement analysis focused on how the policies in the Draft ALUCP may affect future land use development in the airport influence area for Mather Airport. With the development displacement analysis and the draft IS completed, a Negative Declaration (ND) was determined to be the appropriate level of CEQA clearance.
