SACOG Board of Directors Approves $31.3 Million in Green Means Go Grants
Funding supports efforts to accelerate infill housing in existing communities

The SACOG Board of Directors has approved $31.3 million in planning and capital infrastructure funding to support infill housing development throughout the Sacramento region. This funding builds off $3.2 million in grants in November 2022 to jumpstart infill housing through five ‘Early Activation’ awards.

Staff recommendation released for Capital and Planning Awards

SACOG has released the staff recommendation for $31.3 million in funding awards for the Planning and Capital categories of the Green Means Go funding program. The attached table lists the recommended funding.

Staff presented this funding recommendation at the Land Use and Natural Resources March 2023 committee meeting. Staff will present the recommendation to the March 16, 2023 meeting of the SACOG board of directors. Awards are dependent on the state adopting SACOG’s Green Means Go program.

Planning and Capital Categories Application
Awards expected in March 2023

SACOG released the call for projects for the Planning (Category B) and Capital (Category C) categories of the 2022 Green Means Go funding program. Together, the categories will award approx. $31 million in grant funds for efforts that help accelerate infill housing that improves housing affordability. Applications in each category were due Oct 27th, 2022.
