The SACOG Federal Funding Cycle is organized into three distinct programs that help direct federal transportation dollars to the region’s highest priorities in the six-county region. Each program supports different types of projects that collectively aim to improve air quality, enhance mobility, and keep our transportation system in good working condition.

The System Preservation Program (STBG) Program invests in maintaining and resurfacing major roadways that keep people and goods moving. Priority is given to corridors that serve transit, freight, key community destinations, equity-priority areas, and emergency or evacuation routes.
