Statewide 2021 ATP call for projects announced
Applications due June 15
The California Transportation Commission announced the statewide call for Active Transportation Program projects. The statewide ATP will competitively award $220,780,000 to projects and programs increasing biking and walking, with up to $5,000,000 set aside for a quick-build pilot program. The CTC ATP website will have information on the final 2021 ATP Guidelines soon.
The statewide 2021 ATP has five project types with customized applications based on your project category: Large Project (total project cost greater than $7,000,000), Medium Project (total project cost from $2,000,000 to $7,000,000), Small Project (total project cost under $2,000,000), Non‐Infrastructure-only, and Plan. Applications can be found on the Catrans ATP website.
CTC staff plans to conduct outreach in the first half of April to learn about the impacts of COVID-19 mitigation efforts on local agencies and planning partners, and how mitigation efforts might be impacting an agency’s ability to develop a statewide ATP application. Your feedback will be used by CTC staff to determine what changes to the statewide ATP schedule might be needed, such as if the application due date should be pushed to later in the summer. The CTC would adopt any statewide ATP schedule changes at the May 13 meeting.
SACOG staff will post more information about CTC outreach opportunities on the SACOG ATP webpage when it becomes available.
