SACOG has officially released the call for projects for two federal funding programs. Staff is offering a number of ways to engage and support applicants throughout this process including a Call for Projects Webinar on June 10, pre-application consultations (now through June 26, 2026), and a new and improved grants portal.

The Next Generation Solutions & Clean Air Program (CMAQ) Program supports projects that reduce emissions and improve air quality—such as high-capacity transit, zero-emission vehicles and charging infrastructure, bikeways and trails, Complete Streets, traffic flow improvements, and programs that encourage carpooling, transit use, and other clean transportation options. The System Performance Program (STBG) Program funds projects that improve how the transportation system functions day-to-day. This includes roadway and safety improvements, transit upgrades, EV charging, new bike and pedestrian connections, mobility hubs, and smart-transportation technologies that help manage traffic and improve reliability.
