Mobility Zones is a program advancing clean, shared, and active transportation investments in equity-priority communities, funded by a $5 million federal RAISE grant. In March, the board approved $8.7 million in a combination of federal Carbon Reduction Program and RAISE grant funds for the advancement of six Early Action projects.
Projects funded include: Bowman Road Sidewalk Infill (Placer County), Florin Bus Stop Bundle (Sacramento County), Georgetown Main Street Crossings (El Dorado County), Sanborn Sidewalks and Bus Stop (Sutter County), Woodland Downtown Transfer Point (Yolo County), and Yuba-Sutter Volunteer Driver Program Study (Yuba County).
For the remaining 27 Mobility Zones projects that were not recommended for Early Action funding, the project team will prepare implementation “toolkits”. These documents will outline which of those projects are ready to seek regional, state, or federal funding, and which need additional development to be ready for funding. SACOG will administer a Mobility Zones technical assistance program to support both types of projects. More information is available on SACOG’s Mobility Zones webpage.
