SACOG Board Chair Darren Suen issued the following statement on the passing of the Congressman: 

"On behalf of the Sacramento Area Council of Governments, I want to express our sincere condolences to the family, friends and constituents of Congressman Doug LaMalfa. A member of our California delegation, Congressman LaMalfa was a strong advocate for rural communities in the SACOG region and throughout Northern California during his time in Congress and the State Legislature. As Chair of the Western Caucus, he was passionate about water resources in the state and a champion of Sites Reservoir."
