Sacramento Region Awarded $154 Million from Affordable Housing and Sustainable Communities Grant Program

Post Date:12/17/2025

More funding for housing, busses, light rail cars, bike lanes, and sidewalks is on the way to four projects in the Sacramento region, which received $154 million in total from a grant program by the California Strategic Growth Council. These awards make up 18 percent of the total funding for the program, the most by far ever received by the region.

The Affordable Housing and Sustainable Communities (AHSC) grant program funds affordable housing projects that make it easier for residents to drive less by making sure housing is near transit, jobs, and key destinations. The funding encourages collaboration between affordable housing developers, cities and counties, and transportation agencies to create vibrant communities. These awards to the region are a testament to the vision and collaboration of the region to meet the housing needs of the communities.

Congratulations to the awardees! SACOG looks forward to featuring each project in more detail in the coming months.
