Introducing Lisa Lind, SACOG’s Blueprint Principal Planner
SACOG is proud to introduce Lisa Lind, AICP, as the agency’s Blueprint Principal. Lind oversees the development and implementation of the region’s long-range plan, the 2025 Blueprint.
Developing a shared vision of growth across urban, rural, and suburban communities for 2.5 million people is a complex process. The Blueprint is the region’s vision for how 22 cities and six counties work together to prioritize investments. Lind is at the center of that planning process and brings in her dynamic professional history to lead its implementation.
Lind joins SACOG with 20 years of experience in long-range planning and economic development, most recently serving as community development coordinator for the City of San Diego, where she also served as a senior planner. Her work in Southern California has given her a better understanding of the challenges of local governments, and how adding community voices can lead to more inclusive plans.
“In my short time in this role, I’ve observed the importance of community input in shaping the vision, bringing more people into the conversation about what’s important to communities that make up the Sacramento region,” shared Lind.
Lind has a master’s degree in city planning from San Diego State University and has led teams through community plan updates and grant-funded studies. In her planning career, she has worked on plans, ordinances, housing elements, roadway corridors, infrastructure, and natural resource plans.
She is a passionate planner who is always thinking about how people use spaces, how they travel to get to work, or how they enjoy time with friends and family. “I think the nature of regional planning is how we live our lives. These areas are connected and equally important to how we spend time throughout the region,” added Lind.
As a new resident, she looks forward to exploring the neighborhoods and historic main streets as well as vistas and trails throughout this diverse area. She is most excited about collaborating with cities and counties to help build the vision. You will see Lind in the coming months as the draft 2025 Blueprint is planned to go to the SACOG Board of Directors for approval.
