$42.5 Million Awarded to Sacramento Region Transportation Projects in 2025 STIP Funding Round

Post Date:08/21/2025 9:33 AM

The Sacramento Area Council of Governments (SACOG) board of directors approved $42.5 million in funding to 11 projects in the 2025 Four County State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP).

The transportation projects will improve safety and connectivity for the region’s residents. All the awarded projects are in the draft 2025 Blueprint, the region’s long-range transportation and land use plan and vision for how the region will grow.

“These funds are critical to maintaining our roads and making it safer for bikes and pedestrians across the region,” said Darren Suen, SACOG board chair and City of Elk Grove councilmember. “For the city and the region, I am especially excited to build upon the Regional Trail Network with the investment in the Elk Grove Laguna Creek Trail connection.”

“On behalf of the SACOG board of directors, we are proud to help our cities and counties complete these important connections,” added Suen. “Together, we will continue working to implement our regional vision.”
