Transportation List for the 2025 Blueprint Adopted by Board of Directors

Post Date:11/20/2024

On Thursday, November 14th, the SACOG Board of Directors adopted the Draft Final Transportation Project List. This list, combined with the adopted land use assumptions, will form the final preferred scenario for the 2025 Metropolitan Transportation Plan/Sustainable Communities Strategy, known as the 2025 Blueprint

To develop this project list, SACOG was tasked with identifying a set of financially constrained multimodal transportation investments that align with the land use strategy adopted by the board for the 2025 Blueprint. Staff reviewed over 1,600 projects nominated by cities, counties, and transit operators throughout the region. These projects were analyzed using the Triple Bottom Line Framework to assess their potential to minimize congestion, provide more transportation choices, increase access to opportunities, and improve safety while achieving the greenhouse gas (GHG) target set for the SACOG region by the state.

Following the adoption of the transportation project list, staff is beginning to draft the 2025 Blueprint plan document. SACOG will also develop the policies of the plan in parallel with the Environmental Impact Report (EIR). The Draft 2025 Blueprint and EIR are scheduled for public review in May 2025, with plan adoption planned for November 2025.
