The 50 Corridor Transportation Management Association (TMA) has launched a new campaign that invites residents to experience the joys and adventures of getting around by bike or transit to destinations around the area. Funded by the Sacramento Area Council of Governments (SACOG) Mode Shift grant program in 2023, the campaign aims to make getting to and from destinations like restaurants and events part of the fun.

In the “Let’s Go Adventure Kit,” 50 Corridor TMA has compiled several activities that make it easy for families, couples, and solo adventurers alike to find new places to get to by bike or transit. The kit includes an online map to help you figure out your route, and is available for free to residents who live in 50 Corridor TMA’s service area; you can find the zip codes they serve on the LetsGoSac.org website.  

The 50 Corridor TMA wants to be like the friend who encourages you to try new things, shared Cheryl Croshere, PhD, executive director, 50 Corridor TMA. “From our experience,” she said, “the number one way to get someone to try something new is by being invited by someone they know and trust. If someone is inviting you to go on a bike ride, you’re going to figure out how to do it. Same thing with riding transit.”

The campaign is for a limited time, so if you live in 50 Corridor TMA’s area, we recommend you check them out. And if you’re worried about getting stranded when trying out a new mode of transportation, the kits include a “Guaranteed Ride Home” pass, so you can rely on an Uber or Lyft, just in case.
