SACOG and Caltrans are announcing a call for projects for the following Federal Transit Administration grant programs:

Section 5310 - Elderly and Disabled Specialized Transit Program

Estimated funding for projects throughout California is $12.6 million

Section 5316 - Job Access Reverse Commute

  • Estimated funding for the Sacramento Urbanized Area is $956,000, for small-urbanized projects throughout California is $3 million.
  • Application due date to regional planning agency (SACOG) for Sacramento Urbanized Area and small-urbanized area (Davis & Yuba City/Marysville) is 5 p.m. August 31,2009.
  • Applications for Rural 5316 funds, approximately $1.4 million for CA, should go directly to Caltrans by 5 p.m. October 31, 2009.

Section 5317 - New Freedom

  • Estimated funding for the Sacramento Urbanized Area is $410,000, for small-urbanized projects throughout California is $1.6 million
  • Application due date to regional planning agency (SACOG) for Sacramento Urbanized Area and small-urbanized area (Davis & Yuba City/Marysville) is 5 p.m. August 31,2009.
  • Applications for Rural 5317 funds, approximately $700,000 for CA, should go directly to Caltrans by 5 p.m. October 31, 2009.

Applicants please note that if your agency is submitting an application for Sacramento Urbanized Area funds alone, SACOG needs only 1 original hardcopy and 1 electronic copy (incl. all attachments). All applications that go to Caltrans, either via SACOG or directly, must follow the submission rules listed in the application.

Public Transportation Modernization, Improvement and Service Enhancement Program (PTMISEA)

Estimated funding for PTMISEA Regional Funding to SACOG for four counties (Sacramento, Yolo, Yuba and Sutter) is $10.1 million. Applications are due to SACOG by 4:00 p.m., August 4, 2009 for Cycle 1; and by 4:00 p.m., March 2, 2010 for Cycle 2.



*Applicants please note that SACOG is the Coordinated Plan Lead Agency for the SACOG six county, 22 city region with the exception of the rural portion of El Dorado County as defined by the Census 2000. SACOG will complete Coordinated Plan Certification after all applications are received, though applications will only be certified if they are received by the due date/time.
