Natural Resources Working Group
The Natural Resources Working Group will look at how the natural resource planning for our region interacts with the urban and suburban, long-range planning efforts analyzed in this Sustainable Communities Regional Planning Grant project. The first step was to make recommendations for how natural resource plans and policies and the resources themselves might play a role in the selection of four or five Transit Priority Areas (TPAs) for more extensive environmental review building off of the Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for the Metropolitan Transportation Plan/Sustainable Communities Strategy (MTP/SCS), and issues to consider. Future work will include a review of local government requirements for natural resources planning and permitting, and a discussion of any ways these requirements could be addressed more effectively in the Sacramento region.
