The Economic Development Working Group will develop ideas on how to enhance the economic health of the region through transportation planning and economic development around transit.
The Equity, Housing and Health Working Group will help develop social equity measures to help inform planning for transportation and complete communities around quality transit, and discuss issues of fair and affordable housing in the Sacramento region.
The Natural Resources Working Group will discuss how to integrate natural resources planning with the Regional Plan for Sustainable Development (RPSD) to increase housing opportunities near employment centers in the region and protect valuable environmental assets.
The Infrastructure Working Group will discuss how infrastructure planning can be better integrated with transportation, economic development, housing and other planning efforts to support sustainability and transit-oriented development in the Sacramento region.
Sacramento Region Preferred Sustainability Status for HUD grants
As part of the Sacramento Region Sustainable Communities Regional Planning Grant from HUD, SACOG was granted Preferred Sustainability Status. Applicants in the Sacramento region for certain HUD grants may receive two bonus points, with the certification of alignment with the region's sustainability goals and the federal Livability Principles from SACOG.
