Metro Chamber to Study Salt Lake City/Envision Utah

Metro Chamber LogoThe Sacramento Metro Chamber’s sixth-annual Study Mission will take business and government leaders from around the region to Salt Lake City, Utah, where they will examine the work of Envision Utah, the inspiration for SACOG’s Blueprint Project.

“Regional visioning is essential for our collective future,” said study mission Chair Randy Sater, who is vice president of Teichert Aggregates. “But we need to ensure that what we envision can be implemented in a way that complements local communities and serves current and future residents and businesses alike.”

The Envision Utah Public/Private Partnership was formed in 1997 to guide the development of a broadly and publicly supported quality growth strategy - a vision to protect Utah's environment, economic strength, and quality of life for generations to come.

Since business and community leaders in Northern California and Nevada are developing a bid for the 2018 winter games, Study Mission participants will also meet with organizers of the 2000 Salt Lake City Olympic Games. The Study Mission will be held Wednesday, October 6 through Friday, October 8. Participation is on a first-come, first-served basis. The early registration fee is $1,545; the deadline is August 31; thereafter it will be $1,745. For more information, contact Darin Gale at dgale@metrochamber.org.
