Valerie Zentner

Executive Director, El Dorado County Farm Bureau

The El Dorado County Farm Bureau was formed in 1917 with the purpose of surfacing, analyzing, and solving the prob-lems of farmers, ranchers, and foresters. The Farm Bureau is a grassroots membership organization led by local agricultu-ralists dedicated to protecting the productive, economic, and social viability of the county's agriculture. The Farm Bureau promotes education of its members and the community on agricultural related issues and safe, sustainable farming prac-tices. The Farm Bureau serves as a purveyor of information to the farmer and as a spokesperson on behalf of agriculture in the community.

Since 1999, Valerie Zentner has managed the efforts of the El Dorado County Farm Bureau as guided by a volunteer Board of Directors. She attends public meetings and hearings supporting matters that reflect the policies, goals and objec-tives of the membership. A 12-year resident of the county, Zentner owns and operates a small vineyard in the Fair Play American Viticultural Area with her husband John.
