Twin Peaks Orchards
Established in 1912, when the surrounding area was considered to be the "Fruit Basket of the World," Twin Peaks Or-chards is nestled in the foothills of Newcastle. For nearly 100 years, Twin Peaks Orchards has been family owned and op-erated using the principles of sustainable farming.
Twin Peaks Orchards provides wonderful, delicious aromatic tree ripened fruit picked at its optimum maturity. Sustain-able farming is a holistic approach to growing in the most environmentally friendly manner. Twin Peaks is in its fifth genera-tion of families working and living on the orchard.
Twin Peaks hand picks and packs their premium fruit nearly year round. They start in early May with sweet peaches and floral nectarines, and end the year with a unique mix of persimmons and citrus. They monitor trees, use beneficial in-sects, bio and organic controls, and soft conventional controls only as a last resort. Continual process improvement is a key to their success, and they continue to be innovative while maintaining their heritage of producing the best.
Twin Peaks has a food safety program that includes a Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) plan and good agricultural practices to ensure food safety from farm to fork. For Twin Peaks Orchards, it is important to understand where food comes from, and they always welcome visitors. Their on-site, government-regulated commercial processing facility is where they produce jams, salsas, sauces, pies and dried items using their own high-quality fruits and vegetables.
