Produce Express is a wholesale distributor of fresh fruits and vegetables to foodservice operations in the greater Sacramento Valley. After working in the produce industry for 40 years, Jim Boyce decided to go into business for himself. To compete with the larger companies, Boyce believed he had to offer quality products, reasonable prices, and exceptional service. Produce Express began operations in the winter of 1984. These principles are still the basis of operations under the direction of Boyce's son, Jim Boyce Jr.
Produce Express offers restaurant supported agriculture (RSA) delivering produce that is fresh, seasonal, and local. Restaurant chefs want unique seasonal items to enhance and create menu selections. The relationship between Produce Express and Del Rio Botanicals and Riverdog Farms, both located in Yolo County, creates the structure necessary to provide customers with a year round direct-from-the farm opportunity.
