Petrea Marchand
Manager of Intergovernmental Affairs for Yolo County
Petrea Marchand is the Manager of Intergovernmental Affairs for Yolo County, responsible for furthering the county's state and federal legislative and fiscal priorities. She also served as the county's Water Resources Coordinator.
Prior to working for Yolo County, she worked on land use, agriculture, and environmental issues in the state Legislature, a think tank in Washington, DC, and President Clinton's Office of Management and Budget. She as-sisted state legislators with bills related to energy, water, agriculture, and land use issues. In Washington, she evaluated environmental, health, and safety regulations proposed by the Occupational Health and Safety Admini-stration and the Environmental Protection Agency. She published analyses with findings to inform congressional staff and policy makers and evaluated the impact of economic analysis on regulatory decision making. She also worked for an economics consulting firm on issues related to the agricultural and telecommunications industries.
Marchand has a master's degree in Public Policy and a master's degree in Environmental Management from Duke University, as well as a bachelor's degree from Pomona College. Her training is in resource economics and water resources management, as well as government administration. She is a graduate of the California Agricultural Leadership Program and a member of the Yolo County Ag Futures Alliance.
