High Hill Ranch
One of the oldest ranches on Apple Hill, High Hill Ranch is part of a booming agritourism district now home to over 55 ranches. Most visitors come for the freshly picked apples, known for their outstanding flavor and snap. High Hill Ranch is also home to a multitude of other attractions. Visitors can dine on everything from hamburgers and barbecued chicken to a large variety of apple dishes. The ranch also sells apple pies, cakes, homemade caramel apples, fresh apple donuts and fritters, apple juice and wine tasting from an award-winning apple wine. In addition to food treats, High Hill Ranch has a gift shop and craft fair for visitors.
The large grassy picnic areas and the cool waters of the trout pond, make an old fashioned good time. High Hill Ranch features an antique popcorn wagon and the largest collection of antique apple peelers in El Dorado County, dating from 1850.
High Hill Ranch also offers facilities for wedding ceremonies, receptions and company picnics from April to August. With the breathtaking Sierra mountains as a backdrop, and an expansive outdoor deck and dining room, High Hill Ranch is attractive for special events. The ranch is open to visitors daily from Labor Day through Christmas Eve.
