Christine E. Turner
Placer County Agricultural Commissioner
And Sealer of Weights and Measures
Christine Turner was appointed by the Placer County Board of Supervisors as the Agricultural Commissioner/Sealer of Weights and Measures in November 1999. Prior to coming to Placer County, Turner spent nearly five years in San Diego County with the Department of Agriculture, Weights and Measures as the Assistant Commissioner.
Turner worked as an Agricultural Inspector in the field for 11 years in San Luis Obispo County for the Department of Agriculture, where she learned more about the challenges facing production agriculture in California.
Turner grew up in Grass Valley and graduated from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo with a Bachelor of Science in Soil Science from the School of Agriculture. Turner now lives in Auburn and is deeply committed to promoting and preserving Placer County agriculture.
