Regional Funding Programs

Every two years, SACOG conducts a programming round to allocate funds to projects based on apportionments of regional Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ), Regional Surface Transportation Program (RSTP), and State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) funds. These funds are programmed through the Air Quality, Bicycle & Pedestrian, Community Design, Transportation Demand Management (TDM) and Regional/Local funding programs. Please see below to learn more about each program and to see previously selected projects.

Project applications are solicited from public agencies and their partners located in Sacramento, Sutter, Yolo and Yuba Counties. Jurisdictions in El Dorado and Placer Counties apply through the El Dorado County Transportation Commission and the Placer County Transportation Planning Agency, respectively.

On June 16, 2011 the SACOG Board approved the 2011/12 Funding Round call for projects. View Board item. The 2012 Regional Funding Programs are underway and staff recommendations will be brought to the Board of Directors in November, 2011.
