The Sacramento Metro Chamber strongly believes that an ample and affordable supply of housing is essential to ensure continued balanced economic growth for the Sacramento region. As we look to add one million people in the next 20 years, local planners will have to decide where will homes be built and what style? How many should be single family homes? Apartments, condos and townhouses?

A key element of this discussion is not simply what planners will approve to be built and sold, but what will people WANT to buy?

To help answer this question, the Sacramento Metro Chamber has authorized a Workforce Housing Preference Survey, sampling over 2,000 residents in the six-county region. The results of this survey will be shared with Blueprint workshop participants to be used as a baseline for their discussion, reminding them that the marketplace must be considered when considering the types and location of housing within each community.
