SACOG has released a Form-Based Codes Handbook, providing steps on how to implement an innovative alternative to development regulation.
The Sacramento region's Blueprint project for smart growth was the subject of a July 7 front-page story in the Wall Street Journal. The story points to the long-range planning that has been underway for several years in the region, and how implementation is working in the midst of soaring fuel prices and a slumping housing market.

Caltrans seeks comments on the Draft Federal Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (FSTIP), which includes SACOG's MTIP as well as all the Federal Transportation Improvement Programs (FTIPs) from throughout the State of California. The FTIPs/FSTIP contain all upcoming federally funded and regionally significant capital and non-capital transportation projects in the state. The public review and comment period begins August 22, 2008 and closes September 20, 2008.
SACOG is considering an appointment to the Board of Directors of Paratransit, Inc., at the SACOG Board of Directors meeting on September 18, 2008.
