Public Participation PlanThe Sacramento Area Council of Governments (SACOG) is committed to effectively involving the public in its transportation planning and programming activities. As part of the Metropolitan Transportation Plan 2035, SACOG developed a new Public Participation Plan (PPP). The PPP is a requirement that must be met prior to adopting the MTP in order to comply with the federal transportation act, SAFETEA-LU (Safe, Accountable, Flexible, Efficient, Transportation Equity Act: A Legacy for Users). The PPP has three purposes:
The PPP is designed to assist SACOG staff in implementing an effective public process through a variety of strategies. It provides a menu of activities to select from to tailor specific program needs. The PPP is being developed with the input and assistance of various public agencies and community based organizations.
